About the Department

The Department of ECE was established in the year 2005 with an intake of 60 students in under graduate course B.Tech. In a span of 3 years it has grown considerably and the intake has been increased from 60 to 120. In 2012, the intake has increased to 180.The Department has grown to major heights and currently the total student strength in UG is 540. A PG course, M.Tech in ECE, ES&VLSI was started in the department in 2010-11. One more PG course (Wireless & Mobile communications) were introduced in the department in 2012-13. The department frequently organizes seminars/workshops in VLSI, Embedded systems, MATLAB etc.

Excellent infrastructural facilities and state-of-art laboratories have been established. The department has well established Labs namely electrical engineering, analog communications, pulse digital circuits, IC applications, microwave, digital signal processing, embedded systems etc. to fulfill the norms of JNTU and AICTE, with sophisticated and branded equipment such as techtronics, R&S etc. Imparting quality project work to the students is the special characteristics for the career prospectus. The department even has research Labs such as Texas instruments analog systems, Robo lab, VLSI, Communication etc.

All Students are mentored by faculty members as part of student counseling. Academic monitoring committee frequently monitors the class work progress. Students are also involved in co-curricular and extracurricular activities. The students of the department organize annual national level student technical fests. Students also maintain local chapters of professional societies like IEEE, ISTE etc. Good numbers of students of the department are also part of social service clubs like NSS etc.
